Cuningham Group understands that church architecture is a physical and spiritual undertaking that demands organization and personal commitment. Additionally, we view our work as a personal opportunity to both reinforce religious tradition, and to represent the unique identity or spirit of the people of the congregation. For that reason, we as church architects need to be respectful of and have knowledge of many faiths – serving as Lutheran Church architects, Episcopal Church architects, and more – in order to best serve the faith community.
We listen to our clients and we are inspired by them, ultimately leading to the creation of spiritual and meaningful spaces uniquely suited to each individual faith. Whether it is Lutheran Church architecture, Episcopal Church architecture, or that which represents other beliefs, ultimately the building is a reflection of the mission, programs and people. Cuningham Group is dedicated to using the architecture to inspire symbolism and beauty and evoke a sense of genuine truth and natural integrity for each congregation.
We have been fortunate that many of our worship projects have been bestowed awards for design excellence from the committee on Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture (IFRAA) of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA.)
